will be shutting down Monday, October 29, 2018.

It's with great sadness that I announce that Syracuse Bands will be shutting down at the end of this month. It's been awesome building and managing this site since 2005. Through the years I've been proud to host this site for all local musicians and helping to promote them. However, over the last handful of years, there have been fewer users on the site, and more bands are joining other platforms with a larger audience. These, along with a few other reasons, I've decided to close down the site.

Thank you all for using the site and being a part of Syracuse Bands.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out -

Looking for that push to get you comfortable with your instrument?

Or are you looking to pick one up?

Maybe I can help!

My name is Mike York and I am currently looking for students to tutor. I am located in Camillus, NY and have years of experience with different talents. I have been drumming for 20+ years, playing guitar for 9 years or so, and been experimenting with my vocals for about 6 years.

I am seeking students for percussion, drum set, and guitar. There are different rates for different instruments and services, but they will always be fair. Please see my page for further detail and for a quick listen of different things I've done.

ALSO, if you're ever in the central New York area, keep an eye on my show schedule and stop out to see the band I am currently drumming for, F5. AND I have an acoustic duo called JUST SOME DUDES where I sing and play guitar.

Thank you for reading and with any questions I haven't answered, feel free to e-mail me at and I will respond as soon as I can! Thanks again!

Bass Lessons with Seth Horan
Posted: Mon Jun 13, 2011
The most common mistake a bass player makes when seeking a private instructor is not finding a teacher whose first instrument is BASS. All too often, they study with a guitarist who claims to teach bass "on the side", and this hardly ever ends well.

Bassist/teacher Seth Horan has relocated to Central New York, and is now accepting bass students at the new Redhouse/SubCat Studios Complex at 219 West St near Armory Square.

About Seth:
former bassist for RCA band Vertical Horizon
former international clinician for Warwick Bass Guitars
current demonstrating artist for Phil Jones Bass Amplification & Dark Matter Audio
touring solo performer & recording artist
recipient of the Nevada Arts Council Performing Arts Fellowship

-Search YouTube for "Seth Horan" and watch dozens of videos-

Accepting all levels; all styles of music.
Both bass guitar AND double bass (upright bass) students are welcome.

Weekly lessons are $40 per hour - Twice-a-month lessons are $45 per hour
