Syracuse Bands - Dead Rose

2005 Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) Winners for ?Best New Artist?, the four piece rock band known as ?Dead Rose? represents the talented musicianship of four Syracuse-area high school teenagers with a passion for rock and roll music, and a burning desire to create more of it while growing in the Central New York music scene.

The band formed in the summer of 2003, but Central New York was first introduced to ?Dead Rose? in April, 2004, at the Syracuse JCC?s 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands competition where they came in 3rd place. But ultimately it was their winning the 1st place prize at the 2004 Oswego Harborfest Battle of the Bands competition that was the ?spring-board? to their young musical careers onto the CNY music scene.

Their enthusiastic stage presence and powerful guitar harmonies has grabbed the attention of great CNY bands like Under The Gun and One Hard Krank who gave them the distinct opportunity to open for them in local clubs and venues. This exposure has allowed them to develop a strong following and fan base. Dead Rose has also performed for benefit fundraisers with other great local bands such as 3 Inch Fury, Caroline Blue and Pretense. Other local bands they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with include Last American Virgins, Kat Tale, Titanium Black, Redrum, Four Barrel, Born Again Rebels, The Audacity, and 33 Hurtz.

Dead Rose just wrapped up a busy spring/summer 2005 performance schedule. In addition to several gigs at local clubs, on April 9, 2005, they won the 1st place prize at the 3rd annual Syracuse JCC Battle of the Bands competition. In June they performed at the ?Taste of Syracuse? event on the Genesee Grande Stage. In July, Dead Rose was honored to open for national recording artist ?The Guess Who? at the Oswego Harborfest mainstage. In August, they were the opening act at Syracuse?s Bennigan?s Thursday Night Block Party event, and they ended their summer schedule with two performances at the Shamrock at the New York State Fair.

Dead Rose will be going on the road on November 26, 2005, to perform at Belleayre Mountain?s ?Rail Jam? event, which is located in the heart of New York State?s Catskill Mountain Region.

In addition to their own creative originals, Dead Rose features music from some of their favorite rock artists including, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Judas Priest, Velvet Revolver, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nickelback, Staind, Saliva, Alice In Chains, and Twisted Sister.

Dead Rose has self-produced two demo CD?s and has recorded their first professional demo at SubCat Studios, Skaneateles. Their music can be heard Sunday nights when aired on Syracuse radio stations TK-99?s ?Soundcheck? and Rock 105 The Dog?s ?Backyard? programs.
